Whether you have a pet squirrel or squirrels in your yard, squirrels love acorns. If you have Oak trees nearby producing acorns, then you will have squirrels nearby. Squirrels are never far from the Oak trees. They know when to gather acorns, hide acorns, and recover acorns. Squirrels hide acorns only to dig them up after winter, when the last snow falls. Squirrels often gather acorns to store in their tree homes to feed on all winter. Acorns are the best and most healthy food for squirrels.

Wedding Acorns

If your having a wedding in the fall no need to hurry and buy acorns now. Acorno Acorns sells acorns year-round. If you want acorns with the caps still on the acorns then the best time to order acorns is in late August for your fall wedding. Generally, as the nut grows or falls off the tree, the cap becomes separated. If you want acorns before August with the caps glued on then you can order craft acorns at www.acorno.com/craftacorns.html

If your using acorns for a wedding centerpiece then Northern Red Oak Acorns will do the job nicely. You can order Northern Red Oak Acorns by the pound from us all year-round. Depending on the season our acorns range from $5-$7 per lb. If you order more than 25 lbs then your order qualifies for a bulk discount.

Buying Acorns for Animal Feed

Orders over 25 pounds qualify for our bulk discount rate which ranges from $1.50 to $5 per pound. Hogs of course do prefer Black Oak Acorns and White Oak Acorns over Red Oaks, but will still eat Red Oak Acorns if none other types are available. We have seen videos of hogs ramming down fences to get to Oak trees. Hogs and Pigs go crazy for acorns.

One of our busiest seasons at Acorno Acorns is pre-hunting season and hunting season. Deer love acorns. Deer prefer Black Oak Acorns and White Oak Acorns. Acorns aren’t filled with protein but they are fatty and higher in nutrients and deer prefer acorns over most any other food. While it may not be healthy for deer to acorns year-round they can only eat them in the fall when they fall off the tree. Acorno offers many hunter discounts starting in August. Oak Acorn Seedlings for Planting

Acorno sells Oak Acorn seedlings from April to September. All of our Oak acorn seedlings have been stratified. They spend the winters in Northern Vermont tucked away outside in storage containers. Our Northern Red Oak, Black Oak, and Southern Red Oak Acorns are sprouting and ready for ground planting or indoor planting. Our acorn seedlings cost the same as our acorns at $7 per lb. Acorns are shipped to the USA and Canada.
